She attended her first show at 1 month old, and she and her family has been competitive in the show ring for years where they have won Grand or Reserve Grand Champion Steer honors at almost every major show in Texas. She and her family were champions in the TCCA for several years, and consistently ranked in the Top Ten All Around. Ingrid won 3 TCCA High Point buckles: Champion Senior Steer Showman in 1997 & 1999 and the 1997 Champion Hereford Steer Exhibitor. While in high school, Ingrid was actively involved in FFA, where she served as an Area II Vice President and was selected as the 1999 Texas FFA State Star Lone Star Farmer. Jacob's parents, Frank and Sandy Tusa, have been an integral part of Tusa Show Cattle. Both born and raised in Falls County, Frank has lived on his farm and ranch land in Highbank his entire life. Frank attended Texas A&M University and was a member of the Corps of Cadets. He later graduated from West Texas A&M University where he had a strong interest in the feedlot industry. He later returned to his family's operation, where he farmed and ranched. Over the years he and Sandy have run a large cow/calf operation and farmed several crops as well as running stocker cattle on oats and grass. When his oldest son, Jacob, graduated from Texas A&M, they began working together on building Tusa Show Cattle. Sandy has worked with the family operation throughout its duration. She worked for Dillards, Inc. as a Business Manager with Clinique and later began her own jewelry design business which is now known as Rocking T Ranch Designs. Her jewelry has been featured in shops across Texas, including The Shops at River Square in Waco, Albany Interiors and Desperados in Albany, Detten's in Hereford, Buffalo Gal in Buffalo among many others. The Tusa's have two sons, Jacob and Jared Tusa. Frank and Sandy are active members of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marlin and the Texas Farm Bureau. |
